I trust you enjoyed the Christmas and New Year ‘break’ that seems so long ago now. We are back in full swing after being shut for 2 weeks. Before we closed we learnt that the ladies are better than the men at indoor bowling and a couple of beers don’t improve your ability.
It’s nearing the end of the 2014 financial year which means we are busy chasing the odd person who hasn’t completed their 2013 returns and gearing up to start processing 2014 accounts. If you haven’t signed and returned your 2013 tax return you need to do this by no later than 31st March 2014 to avoid IRD consequences.
Thank you to all those who attended the value and succession seminar – certainly a lot to think about. We plan to run a farming specific workshop to help farmers understand their financials, GST returns, interest rates, business structures and YOUR own suggestions. I encourage you to attend. We will forward additional detail soon!
Please get in touch if you have any concerns regarding your tax position or changes in circumstances so we can get a good understanding of anything that may effect your 2014 financial accounts and tax situation.
As some of you are aware, Karen is about to become a Mum. She will be taking maternity leave from mid May 2014 until January 2015. We will be advising all of Karen’s clients, by mail, of who will be looking after you in her absence. We wish Karen and Joseph all the best for parenthood and look forward to meeting the new addition.
Talk soon,
Mark
